KEWL styles, fashion and beauty tips! Ever wonder what your fave star wore on the red carpet? Find out here as it happens! |
What a stylish week!
Between parties, events, meet and greets and premieres, this was one busy week for stars in Hollywood! The weather was great, so the fashions were especially summery and fun, and make-up and hair light and natural! - Let's just get on with it!
At an event for the TV show Brothers and Sisters, Emily VanCamp kept it kewl in a pants and top outfit that perfectly straddled the dressy/casual divide.
There were plenty of dressier events going on this week too, and not so classic black seemed to be the fashion byword of the week. At the Tribeca Film Festival, Gossip Girl Blake Lively kept it interesting in this frock and period inspired shoes.
Rock daughter Zoe Kravitz looks fabulous in the not so simple black frock of hers - just look at all the fun details and fabric changes! And all in one tiny dress on one tiny lady! Amazing.
The Duff sisters show that they are definitely up to the New York fashion challenge! Both in black 'cocktail' dresses, the girls show off their long locks and long stems! Black always lets the natural beauty shine through!
And Hilary even gets into the slightly sexy trend of corset dressing! Look at the 'stays' that give the dress its sexy shape! To counter that, the ever careful Canadian has chosen a longer hemline - nice counter-move!
Never one to pass up on an opportunity to wear a really stunning dress, one of our faves, Emmy Rossum, gives her take on a simple white dress. Simply beautiful!
Also making a name for herself on MY best dressed list is newcomer Natassia Malthes, who looks like vintage Hollywood magic in this gorgeously beaded number - can you imagine how great this dress must feel to wear? Stunning! She's also wearing a bit more make-up than anyone else this week, but with a dress like this - you can afford to go a tad more dramatic!
There was also a premiere for a little thing called Speed Racer over the weekend that attracted all sorts of beautiful ladies and some great spring dresses. Like spunky Aimee Teegarden from Friday Night Lights in this fun red dress. Not too sexy, but plenty sassy! Nice choice, Aimee!
Another winning entry in the red dress competition for the day was worn by Moonlight star Sophie Myles. I love her from the period film Mansfield Park, but she's still looking just as young and lovely as ever!

Once again, our fave Emmy Rossum shows em how to wear an awesome purple dress (she's done this a few times!). I hope someone is paying her to wear their clothes - she's such a great walking billboard! Awesome, Rossum!
My personal favorite dress of the week has to be this one worn by Ginnifer Goodwin! Cute, comfortable, swingy, attractive and what a great, colorful pattern!!! I could just eat it up! It's just fantastic!
And it wouldn't be right not to finish off with the effervescent girl of the evening, the film's own Christina Ricci! She looks fantastic and super fresh in this dress that's just the right mix of springtime and black and white. It suits her, and her personal style, perfectly! Kudos, Christina!
And wrapping up what was one of the best weeks in fashion in a long time, this maid of honor glowed at her own premiere of the new romantic comedy Made of Honor. Michelle Monaghan is wearing the queen of all bridesmaid dresses! This gradated black silk organza masterpiece looks gorgeous, and must make a beautiful swishing sound with every step! We're a little jealous...but we'll manage! Stay stylish!

Grey Days Again!
What is it with grey this year?!? We had a bunch of it in the spring, and heck if it’s not back in full force now! All over the place; at premieres, club openings, and even at an Oscar’s preview jewelry show, the girls were out showing off their grey… or is it gray?!? I’m a fan of ‘grey’, so bear with me, as there are no rules about the correct spelling of grey!!! If it’s your name, you can choose. Otherwise, it’s all up to the user! And these clothing choices prove it in the way they switch fabrics and styles from girl to girl. Go Grey, Girl!
Anna Sophia Robb looks like she’s growing up in this still-girly strapless grey dress! Despite the fact that it is the middle of winter in the northern hemisphere, most of our girls are wearing rather flirty spring-y dress styles! I guess the coat check is right before the red carpet!
Jayne Wisnener, who you might recognize as the young ingénue Joanna in the musical film “Sweeney Todd” is shown here at her premiere in London. Now we KNOW it’s cold there, so the girl is very brave in this short and strapless number, that is daring also in it’s asymmetrical front hem and slip hemline! Yep! It looked like that in every picture, so it’s not just a static cling issue! And why not? The slip is every bit as pretty as the over material!
A few of our ‘grey girls’ were at the same party in Hollywood, showing jewels to the stars in hopes that they will wear them to any one of the awards shows coming up in Hollywood. Jennifer Love Hewitt showed up in a romantic chiffon number that let her look her lovely self, whether or not she’s a size 4!
Also on hand was Sarah Jane Morris, looking much more in the season with her wool sheath dress – such the elegant and classic look! The red belt and shoes ties the look together, without making it look like a school girl uniform!
Molly Simms managed to go grey and sparkly in this very sixties choice while partying up in Vegas! Now relax, people! She’s there to accept the keys to the city for her role on the hit TV show “Las Vegas”! Nothing fishy going on here!
And finally, your girl and mine, Miley heats up her very own concert film premiere with a dress in many shades of grey!!! Bravo to Miley for letting herself wear the sparkles and fashion for once, and not leaving all the fun for Hannah!
And you thought grey was just for the older ladies in the crowd! Pshaw! Now, get out there, and find the grey that’s makes everyone say “Hey!”

Amanda's a DEAR
August 21, 2007
Amanda Bynes launched her new clothing line earlier this month at Steve and Barry's Store - Manhattan Mall / New York City, NY. The line is called "dear BY amanda bynes'.
(from dearbyamanda.com)
What is dear?
dear is first-ever apparel line launched by comedic actress and Hollywood "it" girl Amanda Bynes, to be sold exclusively at Steve & Barry's stores nationwide beginning August 16th. Every piece in the line is priced at $19.98 or less.
Can you describe the collection?
The dear brand delivers the cost-conscious values of Steve & Barry's to a new demographic by catering to a younger woman who wants to be stylish on a budget.
The dear collection will offer more than 120 pieces of clothing including denim jeans, casual pants, dresses, fitted polos, and graphic hoodies at launch. 28 accessory styles including shoes, hats, bags, belts and over 70 pieces of jewelry are also included in the collection. Outerwear including down vests and jackets will also be introduced.

Why did Amanda Bynes choose to partner with Steve & Barry's?
Amanda decided to partner with Steve & Barry's after learning of the company's philosophy - to offer high quality merchandise at the lowest prices possible, while helping change the mindset that people have to spend a lot for great clothes.
It's an important message for teens to know that they don't need to spend a fortune on clothes to look great and have the confidence that goes along with that.
The items in the dear collection were created so girls can shop for a whole wardrobe - with plenty of pieces to mix and match - and still have money left to go and show off their cute new looks.
How are you able to make the dear merchandise so inexpensive?
Steve & Barry's has revolutionized retailing by eliminating costs from every aspect of the business, including marketing, production, store operations and corporate expenses. For example, the company relies on word of mouth marketing vs. traditional advertising, analyzes the smallest details such as how to pack a truck to the most efficient ways possible, sources in non-traditional regions of the world, and eliminates luxuries other businesses take for granted.
Where does the dear name come from?
The dear collection reflects Amanda's personal sense of style and comfort - casual, fun items of clothing every girl will love to live in. Amanda created pieces for girls to hold dear' for years to come.
