The Look of Zac!

In honor of the hottest hottie of the hour… and the fact that it’s his Birthday week… we’ve decide to do a little something called “The Look of Zac” – a little show of all the fashion looks Zac has sported on the red carpets of his career.  Let’s take a look!

Early on, Zac may have had a slight ‘WWHT’ (or What Was He Thinking?) moment, when he picked out this way too busy houndstooth check jacket!  Though it IS hard for him not to look cute, so the sin is quickly forgotten!  Yes!  We like him better dressed than this, but we’ll take what we can get!

This is our hero at this year’s Kid’s Choice Awards, and we are loving the ‘vest and tie’ look!  Zac loves his grey, and we love him in it!  It really plays well with the ice-blue color of his eyes!   And it’s a super trade-off between dressy and casual that we would love more guys to adopt!

What isn’t to love about a man in a black suit?!?  He looks great in it, and it looks great on him!  The perfect attire for his first major motion picture world premiere, dontcha think?  We do, and we look forward to more of this ‘James Bond-esque’ kind of wardrobe on our ‘mystery man’!

Did he get dreamier over the summer, or what?!?  Zac takes it down a notch for a perfectly preppy look at a daytime “Hairspray” event this summer.  The classic khakis and white shirt are pumped up by the strong color of his red tie.  Guess this is pre-flip-flop era…  Shoes of choice for Zac?  Chuck Connors and Flip-Flops!

There’s not really enough of this look to see it all, but we’ve got the main elements of ‘Zac style’ in evidence:  Gray suit, thin tie with signal color red, crisp white shirt, the hair swept left to right across his forehead, and of course, those piercing baby blues melting our hearts!  Hmmmmm!

We do wonder why Zac would choose the ‘Canadian Lumberjack look’ for his appearance on Aussie TV, but whatevs!  It gives us a whole new scene to place him in in our minds!  Snow drifts, a sled and you!  Sorry!  Can we get back to work here?!?  (photo: Nickelodeon)

And of all the looks, this might be our fave!  Zac lends the slime “much distinction” with his otherwise all white get-up, and super gleaming smile!  Getting slimed must be more fun than it looks!  As we’ve said before, it’s a good thing he looks good in green!

What Was She Thinking…Again?!?

There are too many mistakes out there that we won’t be repeating this feature over and over again!  The latest crop of mishaps are not quite as glaring as the last, but unfortunate just the same!  Hold on to your closets, girls, it’s going to be a bumpy ride!

Dear Carly… who did this to you?  It’s a cute idea, in theory, but not in practice!  The dress is not a winner, as between the print, the pleats, the folds, the ruffles and the sash, there’s just too darn much going on!  It does nothing for your shape, and you look a little uncomfortable in strapless, to be honest!  And those black shoes with the red toenails!  Yes, you got the colors all matched up, but all that black on your feet makes them stand out too much – light and strappy in any of your colors would have done the trick just fine.  Sorry, sweetie!  This just wasn’t your night!

Now, Kelli!  I’m sure it saves a lot of time and money just to take a blue pillow case and attach some elastic in the middle, but…!  Sad part is, we’re sure this is a pretty expensive dress!  Kelli’s a very petite and cute girl, but this dress makes her look wider and dumpier than she ever should!  Don’t read labels!!!  Look in the mirror!!!  She must have been pretzeling her body around somethin’ fierce to make this look good in the mirror at home!  Not a winner!

Kerry, Kerry, Kerry!  Now, we KNOW you can look cuter than this!  The ‘Colorforms’ fashion trend hits hard in this blue and yellow with red shoes combo… what’s she trying to do?  Flag down a passing ship?  Though she may have been one of the better dressed ladies at this particular function, this outfit does little to showcase the great natural beauty of it’s wearer.  Upgrade you, girl!  Borrow a costume you wore in the movie “Ray”!  Now, those were some great outfits!

Looks like Kristin is ready for beddy bye!  Dreamy in her comfy nighty and leggings, the outfit belongs at home, not on the red carpet!  Nothing more to say! 

 Who killed a golden snake to make you those pants, Victoria?!?  Is it the pose, or her actual lack of legs that make her look to skinny?  I’m not blaming the pants, they’re in enough trouble with me already!  There are lots of winning shimmery, shining outfits on red carpets out there these days, but none of them are this atrocious!  That belt looks like it’s climbing up her body!  What could it have in mind?  Fashion 101: too many different kinds of shiny! 

Okay guys!  That brings us up to date!  But we’ll stay on the look out for red carpet no-no’s as they occur!  Stay tuned!

Think Pink!

This year’s signal color is super HOT PINK!  It’s been showing up all over the red carpets, and really making those bold enough to wear it stand out from the crowd.  You can’t hide in a color like this, so your style, and attitude had better be up to the task!  You’ll be getting plenty of attention in a color this loud – can you handle it?!?

Let’s see some ladies who we think can answer with a resounding YES!

Amy Smart takes it simple in a ‘little pink dress’.  One color, simple, and shows her off at her best – what more can a woman ask from a dress?!?  On her, it’s a sleek and stylish color, which is fitting, as she was in Las Vegas for the latest “Resident Evil” premiere.  Viva Las Vegas!

Regal as always, the super woman of the acting world Cate Blanchett makes everything look amazing!  This dress manages to mix red and pink - which has always been a fashion no-no – and make it a dress fit for a queen!  As this was her frock for the premiere of her film “Elizabeth: The Golden Age”, nothing could be more ‘fitting’!  Long live Cate!

How does Jada do it?  She takes a super classy material, and makes it comfortable, too!  I’m sure everyone on the red carpet was jealous of her, as summer temps were blazing, and she was the only one in shorts!  It’s daring AND classy, and she pulls it off with the same mastery that makes her the perfect muse for one of America’s most gifted actors – her hubby Will Smith!

We can’t stand how cute Katrina Bowden looks in this dress!  The funnygirl from the TV show “30 Rock” makes her mark at the “Sleuth” premiere in this short but highly appropriate little number!  The whole look is perfect, letting us know, she knows her way around fashion AND the red carpet.  We’ll be looking for more of her!

…And the diva shows us how it’s done!  Does Rihanna look incredible, or what?????  This is the best example of this season’s Passion for Pink yet!  What can we say?  She’s wearin’ it, and NOT the other way around!  You go, girl!  Nothing could ever rain on your parade!

For everyday wear, we suggest keeping the hot pink to a single clothing element: a blouse or shirt, or even just a cap, bag or scarf!  Going the whole nine yards is only for the very best of occasions, and for the very brave!  And PLEASE!  Do Not wear this color to your sister’s wedding!  It takes too much focus, and we all need to remember that at any wedding – the woman in white is who it’s all about!
