The Scent of a Woman
Or even a girl! Do you already have a signature scent? Some perfume that you wear everyday? Or are you still searching among all the possibilities and still on the ‘smell-out’ for the perfect perfume? Well, whatever your stage in your adventures towards a perfect aroma, we’ve got some tips to help you choose and use the scent that is just right for you!
Keep It Clean!
Start out with being, and smelling, fresh and clean! That means regular showers each day, and a good rinse after heavy physical activity – like sports, or even playing! As you get older, you may find the need to check out deodorants or antiperspirants – so check in with your parents if you think you might be getting to that stage. For some people, being fresh and clean is all the scent they’ll ever need! Some people are allergic to perfumes, and others just don’t like the added smells following them around all day. Good options in that case are natural, hypo-allergenic washes and creams, and maybe a body lotion with a natural scent.
Options
You can go with any of the following product types to help you get exactly the scent you want: Scented Body Lotions, Essential Oils, Perfumes, Body Splashes… there are even products for hair and lips that work! Make sure when trying something new to try a little bit on your arm first, to make sure you aren’t allergic! If red bumps start to appear, wash your arm thoroughly with warm soapy water, and tell your parents – everyone in your family should know about any allergies or sensitivities that you discover, so these things don’t happen again!
Don’t Over Do It!
No matter what you choose, keep it simple! Don’t use a scented body lotion, and a body splash and perfume! The wild mix up of scents might add up to something you don’t want to smell like! And too much is, well, too much!!! The amount of scent you use should only be noticeable by people who enter in to your personal space – like friends you are whispering to and family you are hugging. More, and it can become overwhelming, and uncomfortable to those around you! You wouldn’t want to set off other people’s allergies, now would you?!? Not exactly what you were going for, right?!?
Another Tip
When trying out new scents, you’ll find that you can only test about 3 or 4 per half hour. You’ll need to give your sense of smell a rest after that, before it can deal with the complex scents of perfume again. And too much sniffing at perfume can leave you with a terrible headache, so take it easy!
On your mark, get set, get SCENTED!
