New Year’s Rockin Eve!
Dec. 31st, 2007
The kewlest show on TV for tonight’s viewing pleasure, will be this year’s installment of the oldie but goodie. Ryan Seacrest has taken over the hosting duties on the show, and it will feature performances from The Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, Fergie, Carrie Underwood, Akon, Natasha Bedingfield, Sean Kingston, Plain White T’s, Taylor Swift, and will.i.am! The show first aired on New Year’s Eve 1972, and has been the choice of millions of viewers to help them ‘count down to midnight’ ever since!
Get out your pots and pans, break peppermint pigs, pour tin into molds, eat pretzel bread men, or whatever it is that you do to usher in the New Year (why not make up your own tradition?!?) and make it a safe, and the happiest of New Years in 2008!
Please Recycle Your Christmas Tree!
Sunday Dec 30
Go to Earth 911 site
and find out how you can recycle your Christmas tree. It's free and better than dumpin on the side of the road, which is what most people do! Hey, if your parents were able to get the tree from the store to your house, surely you can convince them to take the extra effort to get it safely to a recycling center. (HINT: The closest recycling center is probably going to be at your local Fire Department and c'mon, who doesn't think taking a trip to the Fire Dept is cool?!)
“You Like Me!”
Dec. 24th, 2007
Last Thursday, the nominees for this year’s Screen Actor’s Guild Awards were announced! Seeing as how the People’s Choice Awards has been cancelled due to the writer’s strike, this is our next best hope to see our favorite stars walk the red carpet and pick up the award they feel is most important – It’s an award voted on by fellow actors! If the people who do what you do think you’re the best, that’s REALLY saying something! Below is a full list of nominees for Movies and Television. Congratulations and Good Luck to all! Mall-sical?!?
Dec. 24th, 2007
It seems the success of High School Musical didn’t go unnoticed by MTV, and they want in on the action! They’re producing “The American Mall”, and it will be premiered this summer on MTV, releasing the DVD for sale a few days later. They’ve even hired HSM’s producers Bill Borden and Barry Rosenbush to help them recreate the makings of a teen smash hit – but this time, on THEIR channel. The show will be set in a mall, and the characters will be just out of high school and working there! Interested yet? The movie is already fully cast with new up and coming talents, and will start shooting in January in Utah! (What’s with all this shooting in Utah, people?!?) Do you think you’re ready to fall in love with the Mall? Hmmmm. Jury’s still out, but we’re willing to give it a try!
Happy Birthday, Ali!
Dec. 22nd, 2007
It's all about the little-er Lohan today, as Ali celebrates her 14th birthday! Go Ali! We wish her all the best in her singing career, and can't wait to hear what her pipes can produce! You go, girl! Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday, Eddie!
Dec. 21st, 2007
Okay, we don't really know if he goes by 'Eddie' or not, but he's so cute, we lose our heads sometimes! Edward Speleers, better known as Eragon, is celebrating his 20th birthday today! If you were wondering why we don't see more of the British hottie, it's because he's working on a TV show Echo Beach for British TV. Hey! Why can't we see it here, too! Guess we'll just have to live in hope for a sequel to Eragon... Happy Birthday, Ed!

Hot Boy Birthday-ganza!
Dec. 21st, 2007
Is it something about the moon on this day? Or is it in the Stardust?!? Lucky for us, another birthday boy was, and glowed for us on the big screen! Today is Stardust star Charlie Cox's birthday, too! Lucky for us, we won't have to wait too long to see him in his next starring role! His movie "The Stone of Destiny" is in post-production, and is the true life tale of a Scotsman in the 1950's who re-awakened Scottish national pride by attempting to steal back the "Stone of Scone" from it's place beneath the throne of Great Britain in Westminster Abby. It's an exciting bit of history, and all true! Anyway, we'll take any film that gives us non-stop Charlie on the screen once more! Happy Birthday, Chuck!
(photo: pr photo)
Happy Birthday, JoJo!
Dec. 20th, 2007
Today is JoJo's Day-Day! Joanna 'JoJo' Levesque turns 17 today! It's been a quiet year for JoJo the movie star, but she's been touring the country singing, so we're sure she'll appreciate a rest for her big day! Lucky for us, she's in pre-production for a movie for next year! It's called "True Confessions of a Hollywood Starlet", and tells the cautionary tale of a young starlet who has to start her life all over after a stint in rehab. Hmmmm... I wonder who they're chanelling there?!? The movie is set to air on Lifetime sometime next year, but who can say when - they haven't even started filming yet! Hope they don't start until after today! Have a happy one, and thanks for the Aquamarine memories!

“Bees” Buzz
Dec. 20th, 2007
For the big screen version of the best-selling book “The Secret Life Of Bees”, a few of Hollywood’s hottest stars have signed on to add to the buzz! Who are they? Just a little old girl named Jennifer Hudson, and another one named Queen Latifah! And just to add to the noise, there are rumors that both Dakota Fanning and Alicia Keys are in talks to star in the film as well! With that cast, we kinda hope this will turn into a musical at some point, right? It’s a coming of age story set in the 60’s in the south, and involves two runaway teens, and a trio of beekeeping sisters who take them in. Another reason we’re sure we’ll love this movie, is that it’s directed by a woman as well! Gina Prince-Blythewood even wrote the script she’ll be using! Now that’s something!

Pete’s New Rocker
Dec. 19th, 2007
No! Ashlee hasn’t gone hard core! Pete has a new ‘rocker’ boot to cradle his healing foot! Seems that he broke his ankle on stage back in October, and has been performing in a cast ever since! Amazing how this wasn’t in ANY of the pictures online – he’s only been on like a million red carpets!!! Okay, we exaggerate! Main thing is, he and Ashlee are both up and running for the premiere of her new video TODAY on Yahoo!Music at 2pm, and again on Thursday on TRL! Rock on, Ashlee!

Happy Birthday, X-tina!
Dec. 18th, 2007
Mommy to be, Christina Aguilera's birthday is today, so wish her a happy one! What a great year she's had, doing all the right things to keep her career blazing, her home life blissful, and the paparazzi far from her door! What's her secret? We wish she'd share it with the rest of the Hollywood starlets who need to follow in her shoes and get their acts back together. Maybe "Back to Basics" is really what it's all about! And we wish her the happiest of birthdays!
(photo: pr photo)
...and Ashley Benson, too!
Dec. 18th, 2007
Hey! Is everybody having birthdays around here?!? The young star of "Days of Our Lives" Ashley Benson, is celebrating today, too! And just in time! Today is also the release date of her new DVD movie "Bring It On: In It To Win It"! That's something to celebrate right there! She plays the movie's star cheerleader, Carson, and does all her own stunts for the exciting cheerleading sequences! Just go out and get it, and we're sure that'll be present enough to give her for her birthday! Have a happy one, Ashley!

Jingle Ball?
Dec. 17th, 2007
Yup! That’s what they called the event of the season so far! Everyone was there! The Z100 Jingle Ball was a concert held this past weekend at Madison Square Garden in New York City to benefit Autism Speaks! It featured celebrity appearances and performances by a whole lot of the hottest stars out there today! List? Okay: The Jonas Brothers, Chace Crawford, Hayden Panettiere, Alicia Keys, Pete Wentz and Fall Out Boy, Constantine Maroulis (ex-idol contestant!), the Naked Brothers Band, and Jordin Sparks. That’s quite a bit of star power! We hope they raised lots of money and awareness about this special cause!

Baby V’s New Ride!
Dec. 17th, 2007
For her 19th birthday on Friday, Vanessa Hudgens got a new car! Guess, she’s been working for a while and can afford it! But was it a gift, or did she just ‘gift’ herself?!? It’s an Audi, just like Zac’s, except she’s opted for a convertible! As soon as it gets back to normal temps here in California, she’ll be able to soak up the sun all she likes! Once again, Happy Birthday, Vanessa!
(photo: pr photo)
Happy Birthday, Adam!
Dec. 15th, 2007
Here's a birthday wish from us for Adam Brody on his birthday: More, please!!! We loved him on the OC, and in Thank You For Smoking, but when is enough ever enough?!? New is he's just signed on to play The Flash in the film version of The Justice League. Hey! How many old cartoon shows are they going to turn into movies, anyhow?!? Well, as long as we see more of Adam, we're not complaining! Happy Birthday, Adam! Mwah!
(photo: pr photo)
Happy Birthday, Vanessa!
Dec. 14th, 2007
Today is Vanessa Hudgens 19th birthday, so wish her a happy one! The HSM star has been busy in the recording studio lately, so we can expect a new album out soon! As well as some great advertising campaigns, skechers among them, the beautiful teen star is also in final talks to continue potraying her character Gabrielle in HSM 3, which starts filming in March. This has been a good year, all in all for Miss V, and we wish her all the best in having better and better years to come! Happy Birthday!

More Ryan, Please!
Dec. 14th, 2007
Looks like MTV is making your wishes come true! Skateboard maven and KEWL cover-boy Ryan Sheckler is coming back for another season of “Life with Ryan”! Waaaay to much fun! The show is slated to begin airing on Tuesday, January 8th @ 10pm, so make sure to set your TiVo’s! We can’t wait to watch the action, and maybe just a little interested to see who he’s dating now…?

Golden Globes Nominees
Dec. 13th, 2007
At the crack of dawn this morning, the nominees for this years Golden Globe Awards was announced. On hand to read out the names were hottie Ryan Reynolds, hero Hayden Panettiere, and …uh…Quentin Tarantino. Ran out of ‘h’ words – sorry. The Golden Globes are not just another Hollywood awards show, but one of the oldest ones! It is the annual dinner at which the Hollywood Foreign Press lets the community know which films and performances it feels were the best of the year. The only people who vote for these awards, are the foreign journalists who cover Hollywood for their news outlets back home. These are very hard people to impress! Maybe that’s why 9 out of every 10 years, their selection for best actor is the same as the Motion Picture Academy’s! This is a fun show, including as it does our favorite TV shows as well as films, and the only one at which the stars really let loose and have a good time! We’ll add the list below, but beware! Idol Gives Back Again
Dec. 13th, 2007
Last year, the massive charity event raised $75 million for organizations around the globe, and the producers want to do it again. Nothing is known so far about the show, except it’s date: April 9th. Mark it down, and then wait as all your favorite idols from years past sign up to sing their favorite inspirational songs to get you to open your hearts, and wallets, for those less privileged. Maybe you and your friends can plan a viewing party, where you can pool your resources (a week’s allowance, say), and make a donation together to a good cause! We’ll keep you informed as the list of stars grows! The new season premieres January 15th, so get ready to get ‘Idol-ized’!

Jump In!
Dec. 12th, 2007
The trailer for the new film “Jumper” starring Hayden Christiansen, Rachel Bilson and Samuel L. Jackson premiered this past weekend, and it looks like an exciting film is headed our way! Telling the story of a young man who finds he has the power to teleport at will, or move his body through space and time, through walls, or around the planet, whenever he likes. Once he discovers his talent, he uses it to create the perfect life for himself. But that life becomes endangered when he realizes that not only is he not alone in his talent, but there is a war raging amongst those who have this talent. The special effects look cool, and if the reported romance between Rachel and Hayden is real, then there should be some romantic chemistry up on the screen to swoon over as well! www.youtube.com/watch?v=9rz5NekSUTM This is where you can see it, but be aware that you will be leaving our moderated site when you do! Come right back, ya’ll!

Deep Legends
Dec. 12th, 2007
If you’re looking for another movie to see this holiday season that isn’t quite the blockbuster, try “The Water Horse – Legend of the Deep”! It’s got a lot going for it, and is good family entertainment into the package. First off, it’s based on a book by the same writer who wrote “Babe” – remember the cutest pig story ever told?!? Well, after “Charlotte’s Web”! Then, it’s starring Alex Etel, who was also the star of a wonderful independent film out last year called “Millions”, about a boy who has personal interaction with the saints (he knows them all by heart), and when he finds a bag full of stolen heist loot, he finds ways to give it to the needy… or at least those he believes are needy. Hey! He’s a kid! For a 13 year old guy, he’s great to watch on screen. He’ll be protecting animals in this one, only be ready for the particular ‘animal’ he’s decided to champion!
Surprising fun!

Devon in Paradise!
Dec. 11th, 2007
To get you in the "tropical" holiday spirit, catch Devon Werkheiser in the TV movie "Christmas in Paradise" this Saturday, December 15th, at 9pm on the Lifetime channel. You can go to the Lifetime channel's website, www.lifetimetv.com, and click on the “Puerto Rico Sweepstakes” to watch outtakes and interviews from the movie, too! It’s a more dramatic role for Devon, and if you haven't seen him recently, you'll see how much he's grown up this past year! You can also check out his very own ‘kewlblog’, by going to the blogs section of our site! There, you can ask Devon questions, and check out what he’s up to! Go Devon!

Panic! A New Album
Dec. 11th, 2007
One of your fav bands from the Decaydance/Fueled by Ramen label will be coming out with a new album in March! Panic! At The Disco has a new plan for this new album as well. “We just want the record to sound like four people playing a song”, says guitarist and lyrics writer for the band Ryan Ross. And the way they plan on doing that, is to rely less on electronic and pre-recorded sound, and rely more on their own abilities as musicians. Brave and kewl! They are also drawing less of what’s on the radio now, and going back to rock history for their inspiration… so if you really want to repeat their musical experience, it’s time to check out the work of the Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Beach Boys, and Bob Dylan! Is it us, or is everyone following X-tina and getting ‘Back to Basics’?!? There are only plans for a tour so far, but no concrete dates as of yet. We’ll keep you posted!

Happy Birthday Raven!
If you see Raven, wish her a happy day! We haven't seen much of her this year, except a few red carpet occasions, when she's showed up to support a friend, but that's only because she's been busy! Her next feature film is called "College Road Trip" and will be in theatres in March of 2008! If you're under 17 you'll have to get your parents to pre-screen it for you, though! Guess Raven's growing up! After that, she's in talks to go in to production on the movie "Further Adventures in Babysitting" with Miley Cyrus! Now that's something we can't wait to hear more about! Thing is, Miley's so busy these days on tour, she can't possibly start shooting until March at the earliest! Maybe we'll get the film as a back to school treat in 2008?!? Let's hope! Happy Birthday Raven!

Romance is Back
Dec. 10th, 2007
The only real romantic comedy of the season has premiered in Hollywood… though it won’t hit theatres until December 21st! “P.S. I Love You” had it’s all-star premiere at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard last night, with the likes of Hilary Swank, Gerard Butler, Harry Connick, Jr., and Henry Dean Morgan (haven’t heard of him yet, but you will!). The story is of one woman’s great love who dies unexpectedly, but has left a list of ‘things to do’ for the love he left behind to help her embrace life again. This one should be both a belly laugher and a weeper, so bring your tissues! (photo: pr Photo)

Ashlee Goes Dali
Dec. 7th, 2007
It’s happening, people! Ashlee Simpson was shooting the video for the first single from her next album yesterday! Were there enough time references in that sentence for you? The song is called “Out of My Head”, even if the album, which is due our in March, doesn’t have a name of it’s own yet! In it, Ash draws on one of her favorite artists, Salvador Dali, for inspiration. He was one of the most famous and influential surreal artists of the 20th century (you can also say the 1900’s), and his work is full of trippy, kewl, impossible visuals out of dreams and nightmares. That’s what Ashlee says her video is going to be like! Even Ashlee admits, “It’s a little out there!” The single of “Out of My Head” will be available on iTunes Tuesday, and plans for a ‘small club’ tour, possibly in February. (photo: pr photo)

GQ Men of the Year
Dec. 6th, 2007
Men?!? Well, since most of the guys are still totally crushable, we’ll bite! Watch this spot, and we’ll fill it in with pix of the guys at a party to honor them last night in Hollywood. Who was there? Chace Crawford, Justin Chambers, Rumer Willis (clearly, not one of the guys!), Hayden Panettiere and Megan Fox for sheer hottie appeal – or have they been showing up everywhere lately?!? Hey! We’d show up to THIS party in a second! Also on hand were Channing Tatum, Casey Affleck, Emile Hirsch, Eric Dane, James McAvoy, Josh Brolin, Milo Ventimiglia, Paul Rudd, and the ‘funny but not hot’ duo of Seth Rogen and Jonah Hill. Like we said, we’ll post the pix as soon as they’re available!

Fox is X
Dec. 5th, 2007
Racer X, if you don’t mind! He’s the car racing rival and sometime mentor of Speed Racer! It’s probably waaaay before your time, but your parents older brothers and sisters remember the cartoon series “Speed Racer” fondly. For animations buffs, it’s one of the original Japanese Anime imports, and for this generation, Speed is getting a live-action make-over! With up and coming start Emile Hirsch as Speed, Christina Ricci as Trixie, and now Matthew Fox (Lost) as Racer X, the cast has been hard at work creating an exciting movie in the style of the original! And weren’t there some Pandas involved somewhere?!? Wonder who’s playing them?!?

Prince Caspian is Here!
Dec 5th, 2007
Okay, so the movie isn’t coming out until next summer, but the first trailer is already here! Your intrepid KEWL reporter was in New Zealand where they were filming some of the outdoor scenes for the film last February (pretty kewl, huh?) so you can see how long it takes to put together all the live action, CGI animation, music and effects to make these incredible movies! No wonder there are so many names in the credits after the movie!!! The movie looks gorgeous! Click here to check it out!

Corbin Goes Free Style
Dec. 4th, 2007
How exciting is this! Corbin Bleu has already started filming on his next project “Free Style”, in which his plays an up and coming motocross rider, who is also struggling to support his family at the same time. Madison Pettis (Game Plan) will play his little sister, while Sandra Echeverria will play his love interest, and Matt Bellefleur stars as his big rival! Even real-life motocross star Grant Langston makes an appearance in the film as the hero to both Corbin and his rival’s characters. Should be cool, and definitely good family fare at the same time! Let’s hope it comes out soooooon!

Garth Does Good
Dec. 4th, 2007
Country singing superstar Garth Brooks wanted to help the fire victims of the Southern California October wildfires, so he agreed to perform a benefit concert and give all the proceeds to them. After 85,000 tickets were sold in the first hour they were available, both Garth and the promoters saw a chance to do good that they couldn’t pass up: Adding four more shows to the bill, which have all sold out, they’ve added that much more to help the fire victims! Garth will be performing all five shows on only two days, with about four hours in between shows to get crowds in and out of the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles! Let’s hope all the concert guests can be as well behaved as Mr. Brooks, and let this thing run smoothly for all!

Rob Pinkston stars alongside Jeremy Sumpter and Justin Long in The Sasquatch Gang. The movie premiered this weekend and the gang was all there! The movie follows a young sci-fi aficionado Gavin Gore (played by Sumpter) and his friends (Pinkston, Long) as they stumble onto some huge footprints in the woods. A local cop, reporter and a renowned Sasquatch authority investigate, while two of Gavin's dim-witted neighbors hatch a scheme to profit from the situation.
This new film, from the executive producer of "Napoleon Dynamite," opens in select markets this weekend. Go see for yourself and if it's not playing in a theatre near you, you'll have to wait for it on DVD!
